Upcoming Vacation

I had a pedicure last week in preparation for our vacation. (well, not really for the vacation, I just wanted an excuse to post that picture.) I never did give any details about our plans this time so here it is:

Sat, June 30 - leave home and drive to Boise, ID
Sun, July 1 - spend the day with a college friend of mine who I have not seen in years. He plays guitar in a band, so we are hoping maybe they will have a gig or at least he will play for us.
Mon, July 2 - drive to Jackson, WY
Tues-Thurs, July 3-5 - adventures around Jackson with Denis' family who are all rondevousing to meet us. Sis-in-law plays violin in an annual summer orchestra, so she and family are there from Tulsa, OK. Parents coming from IA and sister, nephew and family coming from NE.
Fri-Sun, July 6-9 - leave Jackson heading for Montana. No particular plans for these days. We will play it by ear. Wind up in Northern ID Sunday PM.
Mon-Tues, July 9&10 - Visit family friends on Courdelaine Lake. Will probably include some lake boating and fishing!
Wed, July 11 - drive to Yakima, WA stopping in Moses Lake to visit a family friend.
Thurs-Fri, July 12&13 - visit family friends in Yakima. These folks have been like Aunt and Uncle to me since my childhood. And their daughter also lives in town who I rarely get to see.
Sat, July 14 - drive home sweet home.

It seems like it has been a while since I have gone on a nice road trip vacation. It's going to be really fun to connect with family and old friends but also have our own transportation and some time on our own. Has anyone been to Western Montana and have suggestions of what we should do or see on our three days there?

Never been there. In fact...I've hardly been anywhere. I can't remember the last real trip I took.

Have fun!

How fun! I love trips where we get to visit family! And it looks like you might even be back in time for Kristina to visit you!

Missoula,MT is a college town, famous for rollicking western taverns, Libby is famous for bears. That is the extent of my knowledge of Western MT. Your toenails look good!!

I've been backpacking in the Beartooth Mountains (and yes, there were bears!) near Red Lodge, MT and we went to Yellowstone too. Bozeman is pretty (I think Kris has been there). There are some hot springs in Yellowstone that are like hot water falls but then a cool river runs through it so you can cool off or warm up in matter of minutes, definitely worth going to however, I didn't drive so I don't know how you'd find it. I'd love to go to Glacier some day, it's suppose to be gorgeous and Missoula is suppose to be fun too.

Nice toes! I just had a pedicure on Thursday...to get rid of an ingrown toenail.

It sounds like a nice vacation you will be having. I have never been to Montana. Did you check online to see what's to do in the area?

If you go to Yellowstone, the place that we swam (or sat, actually) is called the 45th Parallel and Boiling River.

I love Montana- I am going to Glacier at the end of the summer. I don't know how yet. I hope to meet Tracy not sure how I can do that yet either. Working out details - on a budget.

hey your updating little blog rolling ting is wrong.

Yeah, blogrolling has been broken for a while. Apparently, it was sold by the creators and the current owners of the service do not do regular maintenance. The piece that is broken is how it accesses updated blog lists automatically. For now, you have to manually tell it that you have updated your blog with what is called a "ping form". A lot of the cat blogs have blogrolling lists, so I ping Phoebe and Monica's blog routinely. That's why they are the only one on my list that shows as updated.

Anyway, way more info than you probably wanted...

Kris, I have been to Glacier before and remember that it was beautiful. I don't think we will venture that far North this time, though.

If you do make it out, I will be back from vacation the 15th, but don't work till Wed, 7/18. So I may be able to meet you on Mon or Tues that week. Portland might be a bit far to go, but I'd consider it. Or perhaps you could come halfway and meet in Eugene or something...

Just keep me posted.
