Super Bowl Sunday

I went to the gym this evening and it was wonderfully devoid of the usual crowd. Just a few of us misfits who didn't care about watching the game... :o) I am recording the game, though, so that Denis and I can watch the commercials. I generally find them more amusing than the game itself. Football's okay, though. I have gone to superbowl parties before and actually watched the game. I just am not motivated to watch it myself if I'm not around others who are excited about it.

Now I have to read the chapter in my book for women's Bible study tomorrow. We finished the book that we were going through before. The new title is Idols Of The Heart, by Elyse Fitzpatrick. She was the speaker at our church women's retreat three years ago. This book is good. It is challenging in a different way than our last book. That one was very studious - it was a survey of the entire Old Testament and it required a lot of reading to really get the most out of it. This book is lighter reading, but requires soul-searching to really apply the truths to your life and get the most out of it. The women involved will be getting to know each other well this year... :o)

I need to get into another Bible study too. I'm feeling slightly shriveled.

Looks like a good book! I also need a new devotional.

I also miss going to a Bible Study. I have such a hard time reading the Bible on my own. I just get overwhelmed and don't make the time to really study it.

We could go through a book like that together online. We could even set up a separate blog so the whole world couldn't read our bible study. (I am really tired. That could be a dorky idea.)

I have recently been thinking that it might be fun to have a book club through a blog. I wasn't thinking so much of a serious Bible study, but more low key. Does anyone else think that's good idea?

I would be willing to try it. At least we won't have to work around everyones schedules.

I just started reading an autobiographical book called Blue Like Jazz. I can't remember where exactly I heard about it, but I think it may have been from Ruth's bro-in-law, Mark. I'm on the second chapter and so far it is really engaging. Denis is reading it too.

I would like to try it. I've never been in a book club. How would it work?

Well, I actually already have a private group blog set up that has been in use in quite a while. I will send you an invite, Kris. We can discuss it over there. How does that sound?

I will post my pictures and write something tomorrow. I promise. I have so much catching up to do on everyone's blogs. I swear, it's not just that I'm jealous of all the comments on Ruth's post while she was away... :o)
