Just call me "Muscles"

Well, I'm still going to the gym. I average 6 days a week and I'm starting to tell a difference in my fitness level. It takes a lot of time, it seems, though. And it's also a good motivation for me to read my Bible and pray each day. How can I make time for the gym and not make time for God? Unfortunately, some days I do just that. It's also cutting back my TV time, which is a good thing. I have stopped recording some of the shows that were crowding up my recorder and making me feel compelled to watch them.

So, today I have put my new muscles to work. I cleaned the master bathroom, swept and mopped the floors and I'm doing massive laundry - cleaning my bedding, pillows, blankets, and towels. Yet to do on my list today is enter transactions into our financial records and read some more work-related stuff.

How's your Saturday going? Are you working hard? Enjoying some relaxation? or playing with your family or friends?

Wow, I'm impressed! You are really disciplined. I have vowed to get into better shape when we get back home. I usually don't stick with weights long enough to see the results, but I'm good with the cardio. You have inspired me.

That sounds like a lot of fun, gmj. I look forward to seeing the pics. and hopefully reading about the adventures with David over on your blog, too. :o)

sorry, I thought that I had removed my word verification. I will do it now.

6 days a week! Okay, now I feel guilty for taking so many naps. We had a game night at our church last night. Despite the snow there were quite a few people and it was fun. I played Apples to Apples and Wise and Otherwise.

I seem to be on the same track as you as far as bible reading and making the time, I have gone so far as to move one of our chairs into our bedroom for a quiet corner, but mmmmm I have yet to use it. the cat however has had a grand time of using it... something is wrong with that picture.

Wow! 6 days a week! I am happy if I do 3. You are so dedicated. That's inspiring, maybe I will venture out to the fitness center this afternoon. I am glad you are seeing results- that must feel good.

I feel guilty for blogging when I haven't even read my bible study material yet. I think I will do that first.

I'm glad that I'm inspiring to you, my friends, and not discouraging. I have tried doing the gym 3 days a week thing and it is so easy to say I'll do it tomorrow. It is just seeming easier to me to try to go every day. I don't have a set 6 days/week plan, it has just seemed to work out that something interferes with going one day each week. I PLAN to go every day. We have yet to see if I will keep it up for the long haul..., so don't give me too much credit. :o)

Rachel, I haven't been doing any weight machines (except an ab machine). Doing weights seems in my mind to take too much time. I've just been using different cardio machines that work different muscle groups so that I build some muscle at the same time as my cardio. I know that trainers say that the weight training is just as important, but I just don't want to bother with it. So my arms are totally from doing the "torso bike", that machine where you pedal with your arms. Every other day I do about 10 minutes on that one and I alternate pushing with my arms and pulling so that I do one minute working my triceps and one minute biceps. By the end I have done 5 minutes of each and I can really feel it. And my heart rate was up the whole time and it counts towards my 30-60 minutes of cardio.

Well, I live much too far from the gym. I took my Mom's excercise bike home (she doesn't use it anymore) but it's pretty worn out and the chain doesn't like to stay on. So... I'm looking forward to my springtime orchard walks...
