Downright Balmy

Last night at 6 PM I went outside into the darkness with some garbage for the dumpster expecting to be shivering cold out there. To my surprise it was so comfortable. It was 56 degrees! Today it is beautiful weather out again - 55 right now. Just a couple of days ago we had a cold snap, with freezing temperatures overnight. I went out each morning to find frost on my car window and shivered as I waited for it to defrost so I could drive to work. I'm not complaining about the change!

I have been quite slow getting started with Christmas preparation this year. Now I'm starting to realize that I had better get cracking or there won't be much under our Christmas tree this year. That reminds me, gotta go buy a tree. :o)

I hope you are enjoying the Christmas season and anticipating the celebration of our Savior's earthly arrival.

Wow, that's quite nice for December! We had a balmy 50 degrees or so today, and sunny too!

It has been nice here too- in the 40s. I am looking forward to Christmas- the celebration of Jesus' birth. Not so interested in buying stuff for people who alreay have everything.

Kristina-I'll ditto that!

Maybe we need to make a move to preserve what Christmas is supposed to be and leave all the commercialism behind. Question is, how? It's stuck like a booger on my finger and I can't seem to get it off.

Great analogy, Martha... gross! LOL

Singing Christmas carols remind me of the real reason we are celebrating. Also, I'm looking forward to attending our Christmas Eve service. I've often been working on that night and not been able to attend.

Oh I like the picture. but the truth remains, HOW.
I have a hub who loves to buy for Christmas presents for two kids, me I could go with out in a heartbeat and wouldn't mind at all.
but alas I am thwarted in my efforts again this year. *sigh*

I have the same thing as you, lm1. I would love to just skip the gifts. Ok...call me a scrooge!

I don't want to skip the gifts, but I do like it not to be so crazy. I like to give to people, but I don't want my kids to be greedy because of it, and I want them to stay focused on the reason for the season. The gifts are part of the fun!
