Thirteen Flavors

Here is a Thursday thirteen that I have been thinking of all week. Thirteen flavors of ice cream that I want to make with the ice cream maker I got for Christmas:
1. Butter Pecan - done!
2. Coffee chocolate chip - done!
3. Vanilla - done!
4. Raspberry
5. Banana chocolate chip
6. Strawberry yogurt
7. Maple nut
8. Avocado
9. Coconut
10. Date
11. Tea
12. Pumpkin
13. Mixed spices

Thirteen flavors Denis would like me to make:
coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee.

Just kidding, he has enjoyed the three that I made so far, but I don't think he'll be too keen on some of the weird ones I have listed above. I have two ice cream cookbooks that I bought in 1988. One is a Ben and Jerry's book and the other has all the strange recipes in it. I didn't even list the really weird ones (there is one for bread ice cream). I've been wanting to try some of the more bizarre recipes for all these years but never had an ice cream maker. Thank you Denis!

Did you know Sara Groves can sing like a chipmunk?

Oh yeah, ice cream... Avacado? Sounds interesting... Do you eat it with tortilla chips like guacamole? haha I need to try out my ice cream maker too, someday.

Numbers 1, 3, 4, 6, and 9 sound best to me. But where's the chocolate chip cookie dough! : )

Oh, I have a good recipe for a syrup to put on ice cream. It is made from coffee. I will find it when I get home.

They all sound good to me except maybe pumpkin and avacado- not that I wouldn't try it. I rarely eat ice cream in the winter.

Ben insists that someone once made chili con carne ice cream. Not surprising, it was not a great success. (I didn't believe him but found the info online too, They even tried bacon and mashed potato flavor. Yuck!) Maybe coffee cake ice cream would be good. Ice cream is good with coffee cake.

My favorites are cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, and cheese cake. Dairy queen has an awesome cheese cake blizzard!

I love coffee icecream too. I got Jamie an icecream maker last year for Christmas. What kind is your? I bought him the original "White Mountain" ice cream maker...the kind you have to crank.

Is Sara Groves sounding like a chipmunk to anyone other than me?

Mine is a cuisinart automatic one - you freeze the container overnight so that it is frozen solid, then pour your ice cream in immediately and start churching.

I like the idea of the old hand crank, but with just two of us here to crank, it would be a challenge and we wouldn't use it much.

Martha, I don't think she sounds like a chipmunk... I never really listened for that quality to her voice before...

She sounds like Alvin and the chipmunks to me too, Martha. I'm sure the speed is messed up. All the other ones sound normal.

Tracy, how do you "church" your ice cream? Interesting... Lol!

Tracy, turn up the volume and listen to Sara sing that first song.

Churching ice cream... Yes, that is interesting. Maybe she reads her Bible while she makes ice cream. Gosple flavored ice cream... That could be something new!

Jordan River- kinda like muddy water, rootbeer, maybe
Good Samaritan- strawberry syrup and band-aids?
Salt and Light- peanuts and caramel chunks
